Oakley (with Little London, Honeyburge and Boarstall) saw almost 100 men go to war to serve their country in World War One.
The original 93 names below came from a extract taken in 2016 from Buckinghamshire Remembers and/or Clint’s List websites, selecting soldiers from Oakley [numbers 01 to 73], Little London (then part of Brill) [numbers 74 to 82], Boarstall and Honeyburge (part of Boarstall) [numbers 83 to 93]. Here you will find a page dedicated to each of these men. Those with an asterisk paid the ultimate sacrifice and died as a result of the war.
Some names were found not to be relevant, but as they were in the original list, an explanation of why they are not valid will follow. We are still building the various pages, so please bear with us while we continue to add and format the data in a standard way.
Click on any name below to be taken directly to their own page and read their story (currently only those with three numerals are available, we are adding others as fast as we can).
